Archbishop Francis Duffy DD along with Deacon John Taaffe will celebrate Mass at Ballintubber Abbey in Co. Mayo, on Sunday the 4th of August 2024 as part of the Light the Fire rosary/healing service. Eurovision’s Dana Rosemary Scallon will sing her new song for Saint Patrick which recalls how our patron saint lit the fire of faith.
Light the Fire began as a song and has become a movement to re-kindle the embers of the fire that St Patrick lit on the hill of Sloane in 433AD. That fire of Faith, Hope and Love converted Ireland to Christianity and spread that faith to Europe and beyond. Each baptised person is called to be an evangelist and to re-kindle the fire of faith in our hearts, in our families and friends and in our society.
St Patrick heard the voice of the Irish people calling “Come back to us holy boy”. Our country and our world today needs the message St Patrick brought to us nearly 1600 yrs ago. The hope and the love that Faith in Jesus Christ gives.
We invite you to join us as we Light the Fire in our hearts once again.
